The main focus of this position will be to evaluate, design and manage large commercial-scale solar thermal projects. Additionally, this Manager will serve as a technical resource for the third-party dealers, installers and integrators who deliver the company's solar thermal systems to residential and smaller commercial customers.
Job Summary
- Conduct site assessment and feasibility studies for incoming large commercial project opportunities. To this end, the Project Manager will review load data, site photos and other documentation as well as interact directly with customer representatives. Occasional site visits will be required.
- Prepare project-specific system design plans that take into account customer-, site- and project considerations as well as pertinent local codes and regulations. Create system schematics and drawings.
- Work with project installation partners to develop bill of materials, timelines and budgets for projects.
- Manage and supervise the installation of these complex systems to ensure that they are done properly, on time and on budget.
- Provide technical assistance when necessary to the company's partner network of dealers and installers for residential and small-scale commercial projects. These projects include both residential and commercial hot water and space heating as well as pool heating.
- Serve as a technical expert for the solar thermal product line. Communicate effectively with customers, answering questions related to product attributes and usage and providing phone support or on-site troubleshooting in case of system malfunction. Support the sales staff by ensuring they have the technical information necessary to close the deal.
- Educate clients, customer service representatives and the sales staff about the principles of solar thermal systems.
- Assist the Product Management team define and improve the US product portfolio by compiling monthly customer and system design reports.
